We have partnered with the most prolific energy efficient green data center design group in order to utilize the latest in green technology design and advanced solar power generation. In fact, our servers are housed in the world’s first and only 100% solar data center.
The exterior of the data center housing our servers is built using steel. The building has several layers of environmentally friendly insulation. This extra insulation further reduces the amount of energy necessary to run our data center.
The data center is monitored 24 hours per day, seven days per week with state of the art alarm and monitoring system, which is monitored and recorded offsite, by security staff.
We have a backup generator that runs on propane gas. Propane gas is cleaner burning than diesel, which is found at most other hosting companies. Propane does not emit large amounts of carbon dioxide and produces no sulfur dioxide or particulates which is the primary causes of the greenhouse effect and acid rain. In fact, propane also meets the standards set by the federal Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) for reducing acid rain and controlling air pollution in urban areas. The CAAA heralds propane as one of the solutions to a cleaner, healthier environment. And since propane vaporizes rapidly, it won't contaminate soil or groundwater. The generator is for emergency use only and is tested weekly.
The cooling systems are built by Freus, Inc and are Energy-Star compliant. The cooling systems monitor outside air temperature and when it gets 50°F or below, they suck the outside air in, filter it and direct it into the data center thus saving electricity when its cool outside.
Our servers run in a virtualized environment, which dramatically increases the physical servers efficiency and shrinks the data centers’ server footprint, cooling needs and electricity usage.
Redundant Environmental monitors by APC are used to monitor various areas of the server room 24 hours a day.
